It was built for the Diet of the German Empire and housed the Diet until 1933 when it was set on fire. After World War II the building was disused. Partial refurbishment took place in the 1960s, but the full restoration was completed only in 1990s. From 1999 it became again the meeting of the German parliament. The large glass dome at the top of the Reichstag has a 360 degree gorgeous view of the city.



The city's history since the 18th century, symbolizing the separation between East and West Berlin. It is one block away from the Reichstag building.



3. Holocaust Memorial

Built in 2004 to the murdered Jewish victims. It is an open space structure. Original plan was to place 4000 slabs but with the new law that came into effect to make places wheelchair accessible, only 2711 could legally fit in the area. It is located one block south of the Brandenburg Gate.



4. Tiergarten Park

The biggest and most popular park of Berlin, in the middle of the city. Rent a boat or just have a picnic and enjoy. Nearby is the Berlin Zoo, the Holocause Memorial, the Museum for Film and Television, Cafe am Neuen See restaurant with beer garden, Bauhaus Archive Museum of Design. The Berlin Philharmonie orchestra hosts a concert at 1 pm for free every Tuesday during lunch time.

This museum complex of internationally significant museums is located in the middle of Spree River, in the historic center of Berlin. It is considered to be the most important museum site of Europe. Also visit the Berlin Cathedral here. You can easily spend a full day here.


The highest building of the city, soaring 368 meters into the sky. On the top of the tower you can enjoy the view of Berlin, watch the sunset, while having dinner in the restaurant.



A year after the fall of the wall that separated East and West Berlin in 1989, artists from all over the world were invited to put their mark on the wall and transform this barrier into a tribute to peace and unity. This is an open-air gallery, a 1.3 km long of history and art, longest in the world. With 105 paintings done by 118 artists from 21 countries. These paintings express the time of change and euphoria for the better times. During the years it became a challenge to maintain the art. Most of the paintings have been damaged by graffiti, erosion and vandalism. A good part of the paintings were restored by a non-profit organization, but some artists refused to recreate their works and the process faced some major conflict about not enough compensation and they founded "Founder initiative East side" to defend copyright, the artists who refused to remake their work but their work was renovated. A part of the wall was even taken down to be able to access newly built luxury apartment blocks.

9. Checkpoint Charlie

Crossing point between East and West Germany during the Cold War (1947-1991). Berlin became the main route for Germans to leave for the West. This spot was featured in movies and books, with the famous cafe and viewing place, to look into the East Berlin while having a drink at the cafe.



10. Botanical garden and Botanical Museum

This Botanic Garden is one of the world's leading gardens with a collection of 20000 plant species.

12. The abandoned airport, Tempelhof

It was one of the first airports in Berlin, now it is the most iconic pre-World War II airport. Closed in 2008, located in the middle of the city. you can also book a tour here to see the secret places of the airport.
